Electronic Arts Is Officially Bringing Back Fight Night
Electronic Arts has officially announced the return of its boxing series, which hasn’t had a new game in 15 years. The post didn’t reveal the title, the platforms, or the release date, but players are already excited that the franchise is coming back.
The series is Fight Night, which focuses on boxing and was especially popular in the 2000s. Five games came out in total, and the last one, Fight Night Champion, was released in 2011. Besides realistic in-ring fights, it also had a full story mode. Details about the new game are unknown for now, but EA has just confirmed on social media that the franchise is returning. To everyone who stayed in our corner:
Fight Night is coming back.
Last month, the Insider Gaming podcast discussed that EA had already worked on a new Fight Night game, presumably in 2021, but the project was canceled. Perhaps EA’s new owners from Saudi Arabia changed the plans for a new boxing game, or perhaps that information wasn’t entirely accurate.
Either way, it’s great that EA is bringing back Fight Night, and hopefully we’ll learn the first official, or unofficial, details soon. The title, release date, and platforms for the new game are currently unknown.
