Analysts Doubt Early Release of GTA 6 for PC—Mid-2027 Is More Likely

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S owners have long had Thursday, November 19 marked on their calendars. That’s the day GTA 6, the most anticipated game of the year, launches on those platforms. PC players haven’t been given a date, but a recent report gives them hope the wait won’t be much longer.

GamesBeat recently reported that GTA 6 could come to PC in the first quarter of 2027, meaning by the end of next March. The media claims it spoke to four sources familiar with the situation inside the studio. Rockstar hasn’t officially announced a PC version, and well-known analyst and insider videotech states the chances of that are low. He thinks mid-2027 is a more likely window and that Rockstar will take its time to avoid a repeat of the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC launch.

I'm not super convinced the GTAVI PC port will arrive on time. I believe GamesBeat's report, but Rockstar delays stuff constantly.

If I had to place my bet I'd say late Spring 2027.

I really hope they spend much time as possible and ensure it’s perfected. If anyone remembers the RDR2 PC port released in a bad state, we don’t want this situation again.

Rockstar’s earlier PC releases came with long gaps. GTA V reached PC about 1.5 years after launch, and Red Dead Redemption 2 about a year later. Based on that, a PC release of GTA 6 this soon looks unlikely, and mid-summer or even autumn 2027 seems more logical. This time, though, things may change because of the unstable console market, as VGC has pointed out.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier published a new, in-depth article about the game covering its development and a few new details. Hacker Cyberleek also released a new gameplay leak, which contains footage from the game’s ending. He also announced he would stop releasing new gameplay leaks “for now.”

Grand Theft Auto VI will release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
