Insomniac Games Finally Fixed One of Marvel’s Wolverine Biggest Complains

Marvel's Wolverine, released last month by Insomniac Games, was perhaps one of the year's most controversial releases. Players had quite a few complaints about the gameplay, and in the new patch, the developers have finally fixed one of the game's most annoying features.

On its official website, Insomniac announced the release of “Update 1.002.001” for Marvel’s Wolverine, the main feature of which is the ability to completely disable scent trails, which serve as a sort of “helper” for the main character. This aspect had been particularly criticized by players, and in one of the previous updates, the studio had already slightly reduced the color intensity of other traces in the game as well. Well, now most players are likely more satisfied—and Insomniac deserves credit for actually listening to gamers’ feedback.

Our latest update for Marvel’s Wolverine is live and adds a new ‘Hint’ toggle for story-related Scent trails based on community feedback!

With recent updates, you now have more control over the visibility of Scents, Audio Cues, and Nightmare Roots.

According to a recent insider report, Marvel's Wolverine also sold 3 million copies in the two weeks following its release, which isn't a bad result, despite mixed reviews. Based on preliminary data from 2023, the game needs to sell the same number of copies by September of next year for PlayStation to continue investing in Insomniac’s future projects.

As for the developers themselves, early reports have confirmed Insomniac is actively working on Marvel's Venom and Marvel's Spider-Man 3. Furthermore, given the various Easter eggs and references to other characters from the comics, if Marvel's Wolverine proves to be a financial success, it's possible the studio will begin work on a sequel or even a crossover featuring the X-Men.

Marvel’s Wolverine is available exclusively on PlayStation 5.
