First Teaser Released for Season 2 of the Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Remake

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf has received its first teaser for Season 2. The video was shown on October 3 during the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2026 online event and was later posted on the anime's official account. The sequel is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

As revealed in the short teaser, the upcoming season takes Holo and Lawrence to a new stop on their journey, the city of Lenos. The anime's creators briefly described what viewers can expect:

The story continues in a new city, Lenos. A new character, Eve Bolan, also appears.

Eve Bolan will be one of the key figures of the new season. This mysterious merchant will cross paths with Lawrence in Lenos, and their meeting will have a noticeable impact on the heroes' journey. The new character will be voiced by Romi Park, a well-known voice actress who, among other roles, voiced Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist.

Studio Passione, which produced the first season, is once again handling the sequel. Takeo Takahashi and Hijiri Sanpei remain chief directors, while Nobuyoshi Nagayama and Takahiro Majima serve as directors. As before, the main characters will be voiced by Ami Koshimizu (Holo) and Jun Fukuyama (Lawrence).

Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is a new adaptation of Isuna Hasekura's light novels, not a continuation of the 2008–2009 anime. The first season of the remake aired in 2024 and told the story of how traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence met Holo, a wise wolf and harvest goddess who decided to journey with him to her distant homeland. There's no exact release date for Season 2 yet. More details will likely appear on the anime's official website closer to the premiere.

As a reminder, a new teaser was recently released for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, whose second season premieres this October.
