The Wolf Among Us Remastered Launches October 29: Telltale Shows Off Upgraded Visuals and a Black-and-White Noir Mode

Telltale Games has announced the release date for The Wolf Among Us Remastered. The updated version of the cult detective adventure launches on October 29, 2026. The studio revealed details about the remaster on the PlayStation Blog, and the game can already be added to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store.

The biggest changes concern the visuals. All character models have been rebuilt from scratch with much more detail, and every scene in the game has been relit. New shaders have been added for the environment, so shiny bottles and moving objects now look noticeably better. At the same time, the developers made sure the characters remain recognizable. Matt Saia, the remaster's game director and Telltale's VP of Creative, explained:

Characters have amazing detail but when you look at Bigby, he looks like Bigby

Telltale also paid special attention to the protagonist's wolf form. According to Saia, it now looks "ferocious, so much more feral and powerful than the original."

Another new addition is Noir Mode, an optional mode that turns the game into a black-and-white film. It fits perfectly with the original's gloomy detective atmosphere. The remaster also includes behind-the-scenes content. At the same time, the game's story and overall style will remain unchanged. Saia emphasized that the team deliberately left the key elements of the original untouched:

He called the remaster itself "a love letter to fans."

The Wolf Among Us launched in 2013 and became one of Telltale's most beloved games. It's based on Bill Willingham's Fables comics. Players take on the role of Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown, a hidden community of fairy tale characters in New York, as he investigates a series of brutal murders.

Telltale hasn't announced the remaster's price or the full list of platforms yet. As a reminder, we previously covered new details about The Wolf Among Us 2, including how long the sequel will be.
