The Wolf Among Us 2 Details Revealed: Game’s Duration, Plot's Setup, and New Character, Faye

After many years of silence, at the recent Summer Game Fest presentation, Telltale Games finally revealed a new trailer for The Wolf Among Us 2 —the long-awaited sequel to the detective game first announced back in 2018. Alongside this, the studio also confirmed the release of a remaster of the original game and, perhaps more importantly, shared the first details about the sequel.

During the presentation, several major gaming media outlets spoke with the developers, revealing the first details about the story of The Wolf Among Us 2, as well as some gameplay elements. In particular, it was confirmed that the events of the second part take place six months after the ending of the original game, and the story campaign will last between 8 to 12 hours of real-time play. Additionally, this time all episodes will be available immediately.

In terms of gameplay, The Wolf Among Us 2 will differ significantly from the original game—primarily because it will be built on the Unreal Engine 5. However, game director Zak Garriss has confirmed that the sequel will retain the spirit of the original and, in some parts, will even be darker, as you can see from his comments below:

"Really great noir starts small and explodes out, like a domino effect. What we show in the demo here is an initial mystery that draws Bigby in, but as the story unfolds, it shifts gears into an interlocking series of mysteries that will speak to the structural bedrock of Fabletown, and at the same time, be attacking Bigby in a very personal way."

Among other details, it has also been confirmed that many characters from the first part of The Wolf Among Us, such as Snow, Bluebeard, and Colin, will be returning. Additionally, Telltale will introduce a new heroine named Faye, who will assist Bigby in his investigation. She is not yet aware of the existence of magic, which could prove useful to the protagonist during the case, especially since a serial killer is on his trail.

The developers also revealed that in The Wolf Among Us 2, players will be able to spend more time exploring the larger, more open locations, interacting with both people and creatures, and even rotating the camera a full 360 degrees. While the exact release date remains unknown, The Wolf Among Us 2 is expected to launch in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Switch 2. Meanwhile, The Wolf Among Us Remastered is anticipated to release during the holiday season of 2026 on the same platforms.
