Control Resonant Successfully Launched on Steam—84% Positive Ratings

Remedy's new project—and one of this month's most anticipated games—Control Resonant has officially been released. Following the critics' reviews, which were released last week, players are now sharing their own feedback—and it's already clear the developers have succeeded in delivering a high-quality product.

According to SteamDB, Control Resonant currently has over 84% positive reviews. Players praise the game’s stunning visuals, intriguing storyline, and fast-paced combat system and also commend its well-made optimization. Incidentally, the game also launched with a peak online player count of 34,345, significantly surpassing the original game (9,193). With the weekend approaching, we can expect the number of concurrent players to only increase.

Remedy also managed to release the first update for Control: Resonant, aimed at improving the balance of various gameplay aspects. However, Steam users who had previously preloaded the game had to download over 90 GB, which significantly delayed their ability to start playing the game.

As for critical reception, Control: Resonant currently has a score of 83 on Metacritic and 84 on OpenCritic—where 85% of critics also recommend the game. Fans expect the game to set up events for Remedy’s next project, which could very well be Alan Wake III—especially considering the studio recently renewed the “Alan Wake Returns” trademark.

Control Resonant is now available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
