Telltale Might Release Full Remake of The Walking Dead Game Collection

There's been speculation Telltale might be working on an updated collection of The Walking Dead games, potentially covering the full anthology alongside graphical upgrades and other new features, hinted at by a recent Steam leak.

Well-known X user DomTheBomb, who closely follows the Telltale franchise, spotted this, as the latest leak revealed several unannounced games along with achievement listings that spoiled details about upcoming projects, including Metro 2039, Control Resonant, and even Persona 6. Among the findings, references suggest a full remake or remaster of The Walking Dead Telltale Game Collection, with mentions of rebuilt 3D character models and updated icons pointing in that direction. Skybound, the studio behind The Walking Dead: The Final Season, is reportedly attached to the project.

Yesterday a potential new The Walking Dead Telltale Game Collection leaked on Steam:

• Contains all 4 Seasons & The Walking Dead Michonne
• Has 23 trophies one for completing each episode
• Appears to be a remastered/remake
• Contains new icons for the trophies that appear to showcase new models for the older seasons
• Likely has been in development for a couple of years
• Skybound appears to be developing it since they own the IP now from Telltale

Neither Telltale nor Skybound has commented on the leak so far, but fans would likely welcome a project like this. It also lines up with comments from Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie, who hinted back in June the studio is exploring what comes after The Wolf Among Us 2, which is confirmed to release in 2027.

Speaking of The Wolf Among Us, Telltale has confirmed the remastered version, announced this summer, launches October 29 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. It's still unclear whether owners of the original will get the update for free.
