The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past—Details of the Game’s Reveal at Gamescom 2026 Revealed
Gamescom 2026—one of this year’s most high-profile gaming events—is set to take place next week. One of the games confirmed for the event is the new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past – which was announced this May. And now, alleged details have emerged regarding what to expect from the reveal of the upcoming expansion.
Some journalists have already had the chance to see Songs of the Past thanks to a closed presentation of the expansion. More specifically, Fabian Mario Döhla wrote on his X page that the upcoming DLC presentation will not contain any major spoilers for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, in case anyone hasn’t finished the game yet, and he also confirmed the presence of new content that, in his words, players will undoubtedly enjoy. You can check out his full post on the matter below:
Went to CD Projekt RED HQ in Warsaw today to check out an internal screening of the Gamescom demo of The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past. It feels absolutely amazing to see Geralt finally return - the team worked hard to make sure the demo strikes the perfect balance between showcasing the new content and avoiding major spoilers.
Check it out yourself in Hall 8.1 starting next Wednesday or watch the REDstreams from gamescom to learn more.
In his post, Döhla also mentioned REDstreams—in case you weren’t aware, CD Projekt RED has announced a major online event, REDstreams, for those who are unable to attend Gamescom in person. During the streams, the studio will be broadcasting live on YouTube and Twitch, featuring interviews with developers who will reveal details about various projects as well as sharing exclusive behind-the-scenes footage.
Speaking about Songs of the Past, the new DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, some new concept art for the expansion has also been discovered, in which we can see Belleteyn – an event in the lore of The Witcher's universe that the developers had mentioned in a separate post even before Songs of the Past's official announcement. And there is now no doubt that this will be a key part of the expansion.

No plot details for Songs of the Past have been revealed as yet, but it is thought that the DLC will set up the stage for the fourth installment of The Witcher. It is scheduled for release in 2027 on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The exact release date remains unknown for now.
