Ubisoft Might Reintroduce Beyond Good and Evil 2 This Year and Give the Game a New Title

Back in 2017, as part of its E3 presentation, Ubisoft released a trailer for Beyond Good and Evil 2, a game first confirmed back in 2008. Paradoxically, the game still hasn't come out, and the developers are reportedly still working on it —though the release date and any further details remain unknown.

Surprisingly, despite the shaky situation within Ubisoft and ongoing restructuring, work on Beyond Good and Evil 2 is apparently still going. It was previously reported the studio was hiring a technical sound designer for the project, and in June, Loïc Gounon, brand director for Rayman Legends Retold, confirmed the game is still existing.

Meanwhile, well-known insider Nash Weedle recently claimed Ubisoft might unveil Beyond Good and Evil 2 to the public again this year, adding that he expects the game to get a new title and could even land on Nintendo Switch 2. He made these comments on the "All Things Nintendo" episode of the Attack the Backlog podcast, which you can check out below:

Among other details, Nash Weedle also noted the game's changed significantly since it was first revealed and suggested a reveal could come at one of the major gaming events, like The Game Awards in December. It’s also worth remembering that Gamescom 2026 is scheduled for later this month, and Ubisoft has already confirmed its attendance.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is the prequel to the original title, released in 2003. The game is rumored to be in development for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The release date is currently unknown.
