Xbox Revealed Its Line-Up for Gamescom 2026: Fable, Gears of War: E-Day, Metro 2039, and More

In less than a month, one of the year's biggest gaming events, Gamescom 2026, officially kicks off, with several studios already confirmed to attend. Naturally, no such event would be complete without Xbox, and in a new blog post, the company has revealed which games the company is bringing to Germany, including playable demo versions.

In its latest Xbox Wire post, the company revealed an impressive lineup for Gamescom 2026. Visitors will be able to try demo versions of upcoming titles like Fable, Gears of War: E-Day (story campaign), Minecraft Dungeons II, Stranger Than Heaven, Metro 2039, and the 6v6 multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Previously released titles—Halo: Campaign Evolved, Forza Horizon 6, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024—will also have separate stands. On top of that, as part of an Xbox partnership, Alien: Isolation 2, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Turok: Origins, and more titles have also been confirmed for the show.

Judging by the sheer number and variety of Xbox games heading to Gamescom, the company is clearly ambitious about the event—which is more than can be said for its main rival, Sony. It was previously reported Sony won't have its own stand at the event, which is a bit surprising given Marvel's Wolverine is launching September 15, but that doesn't mean Sony will be absent entirely. As we know, Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 is set for August 25, and the company could still announce new projects there—last year, for instance, new Ghost of Yotei footage was revealed during the show.

As for other studios and publishers, Nintendo, Capcom, SEGA, Ubisoft, CD Projekt RED, and many others have already confirmed their attendance at Gamescom 2026. The Polish developers have announced they'll be showcasing the new Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC, Songs of the Past, announced this May, while Ubisoft is rumored to be unveiling Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe, first announced back in 2022.

Gamescom 2026 is confirmed to take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 24 to 30.
