First Footage of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Could Be Revealed Soon, as Pre-Orders Open Next Month
One of the summer's biggest announcements was a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Nintendo's legendary 1998 title. The studio revealed it during last month's Nintendo Direct presentation but hasn't shared any official details beyond the debut teaser, including a release date. Despite this, the new official reveals seem close, as one retailer could have unveiled that pre-orders for the remake will open early next month.
As Reddit users spotted, GameStop may have leaked when pre-orders of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will start. According to its listing, the option should go live as early as August 4th. If that report is true, we can expect Nintendo to give a more detailed look at the remake in the coming weeks—maybe a full trailer or even gameplay footage.
Did the Ocarina of Time remake pre order date from GameStop get accidentally published?
It also seems to me that Gamestop changed the listing title to this as well, so maybe that was true. r/Zelda decided to delete this post so i decided to post it here and to r/OcarinaOfTime.
We've also seen a report from well-known insider Nash Weedle, who suggested The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, originally released in 2005, might get a remastered version for Switch 2 soon. On top of that, it recently came out that Japanese voice actor Nobuyuki Hiyama is attached to an updated version of the 2000s The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, as was spotted on his IMDb page. Nintendo hasn't given any comments on either report, so both are worth taking with a grain of salt for now.
As for the Ocarina of Time remake, the game's official synopsis promises "stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay." As we know, Nintendo is also working on a film adaptation of the franchise, set to premiere next April. Filming has already wrapped, and the movie is now in post-production. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth plays Link, and Bo Bragason plays Princess Zelda, with Wes Ball—known for The Maze Runner and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes—serving as the director. Also, according to Nick Baker, the next mainline Zelda game might use a reality-and-dimension-switching concept similar to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is confirmed to be in development for Switch 2 and doesn’t have a release date yet.
