Ubisoft Announced Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Already Sold 2 Million Copies

On July 9th, Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced—a remake of the original 2013 video game, which, by the way, has become the highest-rated title in the franchise over the past 13 years, since the release of the original title. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the game made a strong debut on Steam, falling just short by a little over 500 players to surpass 100,000 concurrent users. Meanwhile, Ubisoft has already announced the project's first significant financial milestones.

The French company announced that sales of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced surpassed 2 million copies across all platforms within the first 24 hours since its launch. This is quite an impressive achievement, especially considering the mixed reviews the game has received on Steam, due to certain technical issues and monetization concerns. Nevertheless, from a financial standpoint, it's clear that things are going well for Ubisoft so far.

Even before the release of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, there were predictions that the game could become a financial hit. Based on pre-orders alone, as was revealed by Alinea Analytics, the game has already outsold another Ubisoft pirate-themed project, Skull & Bones, which was released in in 2024. Additionally, the game's financial success could let Ubisoft make more remakes of older Assassin's Creed titles, especially since the studio itself has already teased the remake of the original Assassin's Creed video game, which was previously rumored.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced currently has an 84 score at Metacritic, and 68% of its reviews are positive on Steam. The game is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
