Insider Revealed a New Alleged Image from Far Cry 7 Featuring Mountains

Far Cry 7 is one of the few video games currently being developed by Ubisoft, though it has yet to be officially confirmed. However, in recent months, numerous leaks about the project have surfaced, including reports that the game's development has been highly problematic. This could be the main reason the game has not yet been officially announced.

According to what we already know, Far Cry 7 will take place in Alaska. The game will use the Snowdrop engine, which is also used in The Division, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Star Wars: Outlaws, and it will feature a separate Extraction Mode. Over the past few weeks, the main source of unofficial information about the game has been well-known Ubisoft leaker Rogue. Most recently, he once again shared with fans what is believed to be an image from Far Cry 7, showing a mountain landscape. Although he did not confirm that the image belongs to the game, it visually bears similarities to previous titles in the franchise—something that was also noted by users in the comments.

This week, Rogue has already shared new information about Far Cry 7, specifically about the game modes and other details. He also revealed some updates about the Splinter Cell remake—another long-suffering Ubisoft project, announced back in 2021. Earlier, an insider teased that Ubisoft might officially announce Far Cry 7 later this year. Moreover, the company's recent financial report confirms plans to launch new titles not only in the Far Cry series but also in Assassin's Creed and Ghost Recon in 2029.

In addition to Far Cry 7, a TV series based on the franchise is also currently in development. It is being produced for FX, with Noah Hawley serving as showrunner. Hawley has confirmed that the upcoming adaptation will not be connected to any of the games in the series. Recently, it was announced that Lizzy Caplan has joined the cast of the show.

Far Cry 7 has not been officially announced by Ubisoft, so its release date and platforms are currently unknown.
