Leaker Revealed Details of the Upcoming Ubisoft Titles—Splinter Cell Remake and Far Cry 7

Despite difficult times within the company amid ongoing restructuration and a lack of news, Ubisoft is still working on the Splinter Cell remake, which was announced back in December 2021, as well as the new, seventh installment of Far Cry. Although the game has not yet been officially confirmed, it was previously reported that the title went through development hell, which could undoubtedly have affected its quality.

In turn, a well-known Ubisoft leaker, Rogue, has once again delighted fans with insider information about the company's abovementioned upcoming projects. According to the insider, the Splinter Cell remake is currently “in a fragile state,” with a release window set for the second to fourth quarter of 2027. The game will be fully linear, but the developers are working on expanding the non-lethal gameplay options. Among other details, Rogue confirmed that the Splinter Cell remake will use the Snowdrop engine—which we saw in the Tom Clancy's The Division game series, Avatar: Frontier of Pandora, and Star Wars: Outlaws, also featuring destructible environments, dynamic destruction of light sources, sticky bombs, pipe rappelling, and much more, as you can see below:

In a separate post, he explained that special attention is given to the PvEVP mode, where players must gather resources to survive within a 72-hour time limit. During this period of time, the main target is to rescue six family members from the Sons of Truth—the presumed villainous cult.

Earlier, an insider suggested that Ubisoft might officially announce Far Cry 7 later this year. Moreover, the previously released financial report confirms the company's plans to launch new games not only in the Far Cry series but also in Assassin's Creed and Ghost Recon in 2029. In addition to Far Cry 7, a TV series based on the franchise is also currently in development. It is being produced for FX, with Noah Hawley serving as the showrunner. Hawley has confirmed that the upcoming adaptation will not be connected to any of the games in the series. Recently, it was announced that Lizzy Caplan has joined the cast of the show.
