One More Level Wants to Make Ghostrunner 3—But the Decision is Up to 505 Games

The Polish studio One More Level is preparing to release their next project, Valor Mortis—a first-person shooter with soulslike elements set during the Napoleonic Wars. The game is confirmed to release this October, and in a recent interview, the developers expressed their desire to return to the Ghostrunner franchise—the game series that brought the studio to the forefront.

In a recent interview with Insider Gaming, Szymon Bryła, CEO and Head of One More Level, revealed that the developers already have ideas not only for Ghostrunner 3 but also for a potential spin-off of the franchise. However, he added that the final decision will be made by its publisher, 505 Games, about the possible expansion of the Ghostrunner universe. “It would be awesome, we would probably even have a few ideas for a worthy conclusion to the trilogy or a spin-off. However, even though we as One More Level are the creators of this brand, the final decision lies with 505 Games, which owns the rights to this IP.”

The first installment of Ghostrunner was released in 2020 and received high praise from both players and critics. In September 2023, One More Level announced the game had sold 2.5 million copies. That same year, a sequel was launched, which generally met expectations and wasn’t worse compared to the original title in terms of quality.

Despite the studio’s limited budget, Ghostrunner has managed to establish itself—not necessarily as a benchmark in a cyberpunk setting, but certainly as a solid franchise that was able to find its audience.
