One of the many highly anticipated video games set to release this summer is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy - a new installment in the franchise that explores the events that happened before the first game, A Plague Tale: Requiem. Last month, Asobo Studios revealed the release date for their upcoming project, and now the studio has announced that the game’s development has been finished.

On their social media, Asobo Studios announced that Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy has officially gone gold. The release date is now confirmed for August 27th across all platforms, with no delays expected. You can check out the studio’s official statement below:

In a few weeks, you'll finally set foot on the Island and begin a memorable journey alongside Sophia.

As it is known, the main protagonist of Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be Sophia, who was introduced in A Plague Tale: Requiem. The game’s story is set 15 years before the events of the original title, as we will see more about Sophia’s past, including her relationship with her father. The developers have previously confirmed that Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will focus more on action rather than stealth mechanics in the first two games. Players can also expect a time-switching mechanic that moves between different historical periods—medieval times, where you control Sophia, and the era of the Minoan civilization, where, it seems, players will experience the memories of another character, possibly connected to Makula. Furthermore, the Minotaur Island in Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will serve as a mini sandbox, where Sophia can uncover secrets and explore ancient labyrinths.
