Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche Revealed He’s Not Excited About GTA 6

GTA 6 is undoubtedly the most anticipated video game of 2026 and one of the biggest projects in gaming history. Despite the huge excitement not only among fans but also the entire gaming community, there is at least one person who is seemingly not interested in Rockstar Games' famous franchise, and the upcoming sixth installment is also unlikely to spark any emotional connection for them.

Guillaume Broche, the game director of arguably the best video game of 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, recently gave an interview to the YouTube channel Konbini, where he was asked about his thoughts on the Grand Theft Auto franchise and GTA 6 expectations. Broche admitted that GTA games aren't really his kind of entertainment, and after about 30 minutes of playing, he finds them boring. As for GTA 6, he's intrigued by the project due to its scale and budget, but from an emotional point of view, the game probably won’t make him excited. “It’s not my kind of game. With GTA, I only have fun for 30 minutes. I start playing, use all the cheat codes to get the helicopters, kill everyone, the cops kick my ass, and I stop playing.

I don’t know, I just don’t connect with that; I’m bored. I may be the only person in the world who feels this way… Technically, I’m very curious to see what they’re going to do with GTA 6, but only because your budget is crazy, since I know it’s not a game that’s going to excite me.”

According to Broche's comments, he may only be familiar with the older GTA titles and hasn't played the fourth and fifth installments, which focused more on story and feel like more mature projects. Nevertheless, his point of view has a place to be.

As for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, this April the game celebrated its first anniversary, and the developers revealed that it has sold 8 million copies, which is a very impressive achievement. Moreover, insider NateTheHate shared that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is expected to release for Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
