Take-Two Shares Rose by 5% After GTA 6 Pre-Order Announcement—Standard Edition Is Likely to Cost $70-80
Yesterday's announcement from Rockstar Games excited fans, as it was the first in a long time to focus not on GTA Online or Red Dead Online, but on GTA 6—the most anticipated game of 2026. The studio revealed that pre-orders for the game will become available next week, on June 25. This news thrilled not only gamers but also Take-Two Interactive executives, as it triggered a rise in the company's stock price.
According to recent analyses following yesterday's announcement about the start of GTA 6 pre-orders and the reveal of other official details, such as the cover art, shares of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, rose by approximately 5%. And this is just the announcement—at this point, we still don’t know what editions of GTA 6 will be available or what the pricing will be.
Nevertheless, regarding the possible price, James Heaney, a representative from Jefferies, considers it unlikely that GTA 6 will cost $100 for the standard edition. In his view, Take-Two Interactive will most likely set the price at $80 for the regular edition, although it's also possible the price could be even lower—around $70. Either way, we'll find out next week, and alongside the start of pre-orders, Heaney expects that Rockstar Games will also release a new GTA 6 trailer, which, according to recent rumors, will be about 20 minutes long.
