The Blood of Dawnwalker Will Receive Multiple DLCs After Its Release, Confirmed by Rebel Wolves

One of the most exciting games this fall, specifically in September, is The Blood of Dawnwalker—a new RPG about vampires created by former developers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, featuring a unique gameplay concept. Although the game has yet to be released, the studio Rebel Wolves has already announced their plans for supporting their debut project after launch.

In a new interview with PAP Biznes, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, CEO of Rebel Wolves and one of the game directors of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, revealed that the studio plans to release small DLCs for The Blood of Dawnwalker after its launch. Currently, the team is discussing specific schedules for these releases. While the content of these DLCs hasn't been disclosed yet, it's likely that, similar to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, they will include various new types of weapons, equipment, and clothing rather than expanding the main storyline. You can find the highlights from his interview below:

“As for whether there will be add-ons immediately or not at all, we have recently started talks on this topic so as to plan a roadmap and timeline of smaller, free add-ons, but we have not yet made a decision.”

Tomaszkiewicz also confirmed that Rebel Wolves is already working on potential sequels to The Blood of Dawnwalker. However, this doesn't mean everything is fully planned out yet. Nevertheless, he believes in the project's success and revealed that the game has already been added to wishlists across all platforms over 1.5 million times, as you can see below:

“Our goal is that after the premiere, the cash balance in the company’s account will allow us to release a sequel and further develop the company. If after the debut of the game it turns out that these financial results are better, we will definitely be happy. Secondly, for us at Rebel Wolves, the most important thing is that the company is a safe haven that rewards creativity.

Although I think it’s just as important, if not more important for us, to have about 1.5 million wishlist signs, which is a better metric for us, because players tend to be reluctant to make pre-order purchases, often waiting for extensive and in-depth reviews.”

Earlier, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirmed that the trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, set in a modern-day setting and showcased at Summer Game Fest, is actually a post-credits scene hinting at a sequel and significantly expanding the game's lore. According to the developer, the studio plans to turn The Blood of Dawnwalker into a full-fledged franchise, exploring different time periods as well as countries, legends, and myths.

Another key feature of The Blood of Dawnwalker is that players will have only 30 in-game days and nights to complete the main storyline, with time advancing after each completed quest. This means players will need to carefully choose how to spend their time. The developers favored this approach to encourage multiple playthroughs. Additionally, Rebel Wolves confirmed that immediately after finishing the game's prologue, players can face the main antagonist, Brencis, by going to the designated location on the map.
