Jack of Blades, Hayley Atwell, and Release Next February: New Look at Fable Revealed at Xbox Games Showcase

Despite Playground Games' efforts to release Fable this year, the studio announced last month that the game would be delayed in order to make it the best it can be. At the recent Xbox Games Showcase, the developers offered another look at the game, confirmed the release date, and revealed new, exciting details.

The new Fable trailer revealed during the presentation focused primarily on the game's storyline. It introduced the main antagonist, Isabel, portrayed by Marvel star Hayley Atwell, known for her role as Peggy Carter. According to the developers, "Isabel is a driven, powerful hero on a quest to right a tragic injustice. Fueled by grief, she has transformed her pain into determination and focus, putting her at odds with the Hero of Briar Hill and Humphry, her former guardian." Additionally, the trailer featured a villain from Fable: The Lost Chapters—Jack of Blades—who also promises to be a significant threat to the main characters. Alongside the announcement of Fable's release date, set for February 23, 2027, Playground Games also revealed the existence of the game's first expansion, titled Order of the Hero. According to the synopsis, this expansion will immerse players in the mysteries of an ancient cult hidden deep within Albion, introducing a new region to the game map. Order of the Hero is also included in the premium edition of Fable.
