New Star Trek Video Game Announced at Future Games Show—Developed by Bloober Team

This week, thanks to State of Play and Summer Game Fest alone, players have been treated to a wealth of new game announcements from various studios. But the week isn’t over yet, which means the announcements aren't either. In particular, the event titled Future Games Show also offered a glimpse at new titles within popular franchises.

One of the announcements from Bloober Team—the developers known for Silent Hill 2 Remake and Cronos: The New Dawn—is a game based on the Star Trek franchise titled Star Trek: Shadow Frontier. This psychological thriller with horror elements, set in the sci-fi genre, stars Ro Laren as the main character who finds herself in a strange world filled with mysteries and dangers. The exact release date for Star Trek: Shadow Frontier is currently unknown. However, Bloober Team has confirmed their intention to launch the game in 2027 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Additionally, at the Future Games Show, the studio announced DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn titled Cronos: Lazarus. This expansion will introduce a new main character and will feature gameplay more focused on action. The release date for the DLC has not been announced yet.

A day earlier, at Summer Game Fest, it was also revealed that Bloober Team is developing a game based on the Saw franchise— SAW: Genesis —an asymmetric 3v1 multiplayer shooter set during World War I. The release date is still unknown, but registration is already open for the closed beta test.
