Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Officially Delayed to February 2027

A few hours before the State of Play, information surfaced regarding a potential delay of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis to 2027, corroborating earlier leaks. As highly anticipated, the title appeared at the PlayStation event, where the delay was officially confirmed.

During the State of Play showcase, Crystal Dynamics debuted the first gameplay for the upcoming 1996 remake and confirmed a new release date of February 12, 2027. The game was originally scheduled for release this year, a timeline supported by a recent Embracer financial report; however, developers seemingly opted to avoid heavy market competition from other major titles, including GTA 6. The apparent shift of the game's release to 2027 suggests that the next project in the franchise, Tomb Raider: Catalyst, will arrive in 2028, though no official announcement has been made at this time. Regarding Legacy of Atlantis, developers have promised a comprehensive remake that will significantly overhaul and expand the gameplay, with a particular focus on enhancing the game world. The title will likely incorporate mechanics from recent Lara Croft entries, yet Crystal Dynamics maintains a clear objective to preserve the tone and spirit of the original title.
