Maverick Games Announced CLUTCH—New Open-World Racing Game from Former Forza Horizon Developers

Maverick Games, the studio founded by former Forza Horizon creative director Mike Brown, has finally fully unveiled its debut game. It is not hard to guess that this will be an open-world racing game titled CLUTCH. Along with this, the developers provided a first look at the game and shared details about it.

CLUTCH is an upcoming cinematic open-world action-driving game that promises meticulous attention to detail in everything related to cars. The game is inspired by the Forza Horizon and Need for Speed series, combining a massive game world, various types of racing competitions, detailed tuning, and more. Maverick Games is also placing significant emphasis on the game's story mode, ensuring it is not just a 'checkbox' feature. The story follows teenage brothers participating in the R1K championship. Beyond the elite championship for true professional racers, CLUTCH will also feature an underground street racing system. Incidentally, the game is set on the French Riviera.

Among other details, it is known that CLUTCH utilizes a modified version of Unreal Engine 5, promising to deliver the most realistic physics possible. The game is tentatively scheduled for release next spring, with confirmed launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Maverick Studios also confirmed they will share further information during Summer Game Fest (June 5-8), where they will debut a full gameplay trailer, along with details regarding the setting, cast, and more.
