Sophie Turner Teased Upcoming Tomb Raider TV Show Will Have Multiple Seasons

There are currently several projects in the Tomb Raider universe that are in active development. Crystal Dynamics is working on two new Lara Croft video games—Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst—while Amazon is producing a TV show starring Sophie Turner, known for her roles as Jean Grey in the X-Men films and Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones.

Filming for the Tomb Raider series continues, and in a recent interview with The Telegraph, lead actress Sophie Turner discussed the similarities and differences between herself and the character. According to the actress, they share a mutual love for history, though their temperaments are quite different. Furthermore, she hinted that Tomb Raider could span multiple seasons, as she expects to portray the character "over years".

The series' plot details remain under wraps, though it is said to be a standalone story unconnected to the Crystal Dynamics video games. Earlier this year, we saw the footage from the Tomb Raider series, where Sophie Turner was in action, and you can check the leaked images here if you haven’t seen them yet. Besides Sophie Turner, the show’s cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Jack Bannon, Bill Paterson, Keeley Hawes, and more. Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) served as series creator, writer, and executive producer.
