Electronic Arts Is Rumored to Be Working On a Battlefield Mobile Video Game
The third season of Battlefield 6 was officially launched this week, during which players gained access to new types of weaponry, a ranked mode for REDSEC, and the new map Railway to Golmud, the largest map in the game. But more importantly, B attlefield 6 Season 3 managed to attract some player audience, and the game's record on Steam this week reached almost 80,000 concurrent players.
Electronic Arts plans to continue developing Battlefield 6, which they confirmed last month when they announced the game's roadmap for 2026. Along with this, a rumor has also appeared on the internet that the studio is already working on a new game in the series, which will be released on mobile devices. In particular, insider just4leaks2 reports that Battlefield Mobile, using the Frostbite engine, may (or might have) be in development, as you can check out below:
“New Battlefield Mobile Project Discovered Built on Frostbite Engine
Current Status Unknown New evidence confirms EA had a Battlefield mobile title running on Frostbite, though it remains unclear if the project has been cancelled.”
An insider promised to find out more details about the project and revealed that the previous mobile Battlefield game, which DICE announced back in 2021, was canceled due to difficulties using Unreal Engine 4 as the game engine. It is possible that this is why the studio is considering releasing a new game using Frostbite.
As for now, Electronic Arts hasn’t confirmed anything regarding a new Battlefield Mobile video game, so this report should be considered with a grain of salt.
We also know that Battlefield movie adaptation is confirmed to be in development, with Christopher McQuarrie (Top Gun: Maverick, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning) set to direct, and the project also includes Michael B. Jordan (Sinners, Black Panther). It is believed that many film studios, like Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon MGM Studios, Sony, Universal, and Netflix, are currently negotiating to produce an upcoming movie. There are currently no details on which game will be adapted into the big screen or whether it will be the adaptation of the exact game or a standalone story unrelated to the franchise's games. The start of production, more cast reveals, and the premiere are still not confirmed as well.
