ARC Raiders Reveals Patch Notes for Update 1.28.0

ARC Raiders has received another new update, with Embark Studios releasing patch 1.28.0 on May 12. The latest hotfix primarily focuses on resolving the recently reported missing Skill Points issue that affected players participating in the Expedition system.

Over the past few days, many ARC Raiders players reported that they did not receive the expected Skill Points after completing the Expedition event and departing with their Caravan. Embark Studios quickly acknowledged the issue and has now confirmed that the problem has been fixed in update 1.28.0.

Skill Points are one of the game’s most important progression systems, allowing players to permanently improve stats such as:

• Stamina
• Combat efficiency
• General survival attributes

Recently, Embark adjusted the way departure Skill Points are earned by tying rewards to the amount of damage dealt to ARC enemies during Expeditions. While the change was generally welcomed by the community, it also sparked some balancing discussions. Shortly afterward, the missing rewards issue appeared, forcing the developer to investigate affected accounts.

Although the bug itself has now been resolved, Embark Studios stated that it is still tracking players who were impacted. Missing Skill Points will reportedly be restored manually over the coming days.

Outside of the Skill Points fix, patch 1.28.0 is relatively small compared to previous updates. However, the patch does introduce a brand-new cosmetic bundle called the Castaway Set.

Players who want access to the new outfit will need to restart the game client or manually download the latest patch.

Embark Studios has recently begun pushing updates for ARC Raiders at a much faster pace. Since April 30, the extraction shooter has already received multiple hotfixes and patches targeting gameplay problems, exploits, and stability issues.

The previous patch, update 1.27.0, included a larger set of gameplay fixes, including:

• Adjustments to overall gameplay balance
• Various bug fixes
• A fix for the Trigger 'Nade exploit that allowed instant activation

The studio has also promised stronger anti-cheat measures moving forward, as cheating continues to be one of the most common complaints from the player base.

While bug-fixing patches are generally viewed positively, the community is still waiting for larger content announcements and gameplay improvements.

Some of the most requested additions currently include:

• A dedicated PvE mode
• Better PvP balance
• More quality-of-life improvements
• Reduced challenge grinding
• A new long-term content roadmap

Earlier in 2026, Embark Studios released its first post-launch roadmap, which concluded with the arrival of the Riven Tides update. Since then, players have been waiting to see what the developer has planned next for ARC Raiders.
