Major update coming for Left 4 Dead 2

The Left 4 Dead community still supports their favorite game. A group of enthusiasts have been working on The Last Stand for the last year, which was supposed to bring a lot of new content to the game. Valve noticed the fans' efforts and decided to officially add the fan creation to the game.

The Last Stand hits PC on September 24th. Of the main innovations:

• The Last Stand Campaign
• 30 achievements
• 26 Survival cards
• 4 maps for the "Gathering" mode
• 2 new melee weapons - shovel and pitchfork
• Infected skins from the first part of the game
• Appearances of survivors from the first part of the game
• Counter-Strike: Source Weapons
• Versus Survival mode in the game
• Improved PVP

In honor of the release of The Last Stand Valve will hold a free weekend in L4D. Anyone can try out the new items personally.
