Brawl Stars Prepares Major Balance Update Ahead of Brawl Cup
Brawl Stars is getting ready for another major balance update as Supercell prepares the game for the upcoming Brawl Cup event. The developers recently confirmed that a maintenance break is scheduled for the coming days, and the update is expected to bring significant meta changes along with multiple bug fixes.
The May 2026 patch primarily focuses on Damian, who quickly became one of the most dominant and controversial brawlers after release. Alongside his adjustments, several other balance tweaks and gameplay fixes are also arriving with the update.
Damian Receives Heavy Nerfs
The biggest target of the balance patch is clearly Damian. Since joining the roster, the brawler has drawn criticism from players due to his extremely high damage output, rapid Super generation, and ability to interrupt enemy attacks too easily.
The following nerfs have been confirmed for Damian:
- Super Charge rate reduced from 75 to 60
- Main attack Super Charge from explosions significantly reduced
- Fire Punch damage reduced from 1200 to 1000
- Arena damage reduced from 5 to 3
These changes are expected to make Damian far less oppressive in competitive matches. While the brawler will likely remain strong, the update should reduce his ability to dominate games as an easy pick for quick wins.
Sirius Nerfed Again
Another notable adjustment affects Sirius, whose health has been reduced from 3700 to 3400.
This marks the second consecutive nerf for the brawler since release. Even after previous adjustments, many players still considered Sirius difficult to counter effectively in ranked matches.
Buffs Also Included in the Update
Despite receiving several nerfs, Damian is also getting a few compensating buffs aimed at improving gameplay flow and maintaining pressure potential.
The confirmed buffs include:
- Hypercharge rate increased from 20 to 35
- Main attack explosion timing increased by 100%
These adjustments are intended to make Damian feel smoother to play without allowing him to overwhelm opponents as easily as before.
Major Bug Fixes in the May 2026 Patch
The update also addresses several bugs reported by the community over recent weeks.
Key fixes include:
- Glowy’s Super no longer disappearing after being thrown following a main attack
- Meg’s Mecha health now resetting correctly
- R-T no longer dealing double damage when both head and legs are marked
- Colette’s “Mass Tax” Star Power shield no longer remaining after defeat
- Gadget usage no longer causing issues before Starr Nova transformations
- Kit no longer teleporting incorrectly after detaching from allies
- Bibi and Frank no longer triggering three hits with one ammo during Hypercharge
- Meeple no longer gaining infinite Gadget attacks with Starr Nova Juju transformation
Competitive Meta Expected to Shift
With the Brawl Cup approaching, the update appears heavily focused on improving competitive balance while reducing frustration caused by overpowered mechanics and gameplay bugs.
The Damian nerfs alone could significantly reshape the current meta, especially in high-level ranked and tournament play.
Players interested in the latest cosmetics arriving alongside the update can also check out the new Brawl Stars Starr Patrol skins, which continue to generate major attention within the community.
