Forza Horizon 6 Has Gone Gold and Is Locked In to Release on May 19
Forza Horizon 6, undoubtedly the most anticipated racing game of 2026, is finally releasing this month, and the recent statement from Playground Games has not the slightest hint of doubt about it—it’s been confirmed that the game has gone gold.
The official announcement comes from the game’s X social media account. Not only that, Playground Games also shared some details of the upcoming racing title, specifically, confirming it’s now available for pre-loading across PC/Xbox Series X/S, and more.
“Forza Horizon 6 has gone gold! We're excited to share this news as we start revealing the game's radio stations, accessibility features, and more! Don't forget that preloads for the game on Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox PC app are now available!”
In a separate blog on Forza Horizon 6 website, Playground Games revealed that the game will feature the biggest list of songs in the franchise’s history, which will be presented across 9 different radio stations: Horizon Pulse, Horizon Bass Arena, Horizon Block Party, Horizon XS, Hospital Records, Gacha City Radio, Sub Pop Records, Horizon Wave, and Horizon Opus. The genres are different and designed for true music lovers; the tracks include electronic anthems, energizing drum & bass, feel-good electropop, heavy-hitting rock, alternative indie, hip-hop beats, nostalgic synthwave, and modern classical. In other news, the studio confirmed Forza Horizon 6 will feature both – Quality and Performance modes on Xbox Series X/S; on Xbox Series X, you can expect native 4K resolution and 30 FPS with Quality mode and 4K resolution and 60 FPS with Performance mode. At the same time, Xbox Series S has 1440p and 30 FPS with Quality and 1080p/60 FPS in Performance mode.
The game will also be having such features as AutoDrive, Proximity Radar (detects vehicles in blind spots), and high-contrast mode, which helps distinguish approaching objects.
Forza Horizon 6 takes players to Japan, where Tokyo will be the biggest city in Forza Horizon’s history. The game will include more than 550 vehicles at the start, customization, new racing modes, dynamic changes in weather conditions, the ability to buy houses and decorate garages, and more. Recently, the game sold 500,000 copies on Steam.
