Capcom Might Reveal Story Expansion to Resident Evil Requiem on May 15

Capcom is actively working on a DLC to Resident Evil Requiem—one of the studio's hits this year that recently sold 7 million copies to become the fastest-selling game in the franchise. Although the details of story expansion remain unknown, the official reveal might happen soon.

According to Resident Evil insider Marcox, Capcom is reportedly planning to release a short teaser dedicated to Requiem’s story expansion on May 15; it will last just 45 seconds and reveal the name of the expansion: Resident Evil Requiem: Extraction. Unfortunately, the insider doesn’t clarify any story details, but he recently shared that it will give a “true ending” for Resident Evil Requiem and set up events for Resident Evil 10. Plus, it will be released later this year.

At this moment, Capcom hasn’t revealed anything about story expansion to Requiem, so this report should still be considered with a grain of salt. Recently, Requiem’s game director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa revealed that the studio cut an entire chapter from the game and confirmed they considered including Ada Wong in Requiem, but as a result, neither made it to the final cut.

At the same time, the rumored mini-game for Requiem is already at the final stages of development and expected to be available during the Golden Week (April 29–May 5).

Capcom is also developing Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake, which is said to be the studio’s priority at the moment, and Resident Evil 10 as well—it is rumored to feature a new protagonist, Talia, and the return (and team-up) of Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Chris Redfield, who will fight Alex Mercer. As for story expansion for Requiem, details are still unknown, but we heard rumors that Leon S. Kennedy will be the main character, with both Ada Wong and Grace Ashcroft also possibly being featured.
