S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl Gets Free Update—Sealed Truth
The new DLC for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, Cost of Hope, announced at last month’s Xbox Partner Preview, is expected to release this summer on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. But the recent announcement from GSC Game Group is related to the game’s latest patch—Sealed Truth.
The developers have announced Sealed Truth update will not only fix multiple issues but also add new missions centered about X-Lab. In this way, the update lays the groundwork, to some extent, for the upcoming update, Cost of Hope. More official details about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl’s latest update, Sealed Truth, you can check out below:
Explore the X-Lab
Deep beneath the Zone, places like X-Labs remain sealed behind massive doors or buried under the consequences of failed “research.” Rumors are now spreading among stalkers that Diod, a technician from Slag Heap, has somehow gained access to the lower levels of X-18.
No one knows what is really happening down there. This is your chance to find out.
Risky Gig with High Reward
Diod isn’t interested in loot — only in something he desperately needs. And it just so happens that Skif might be the only one capable of getting him inside.
On paper, it sounds like a simple deal: access to the lab in exchange for a hefty payout. But nothing in the Zone is ever simple.
Expect a high-risk, high-reward excursion filled with mystery, danger, and unknown consequences. Aside from the payment, more may await — lost knowledge, useful gear, or something far more significant hidden deep within the lab.
New Context in the Zone
This content drop expands the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl with a focused but meaningful story encounter tied to the deeper mysteries of the X-Labs.
It serves as a complimentary update in celebration of the upcoming Cost of Hope DLC announcement, and is meant as a thank-you to the community for staying with the Zone.
- Explore a new questline that starts when you talk to Diode;
- Fixed an issue causing overpopulation of strong mutant types in long campaigns;
- Fixed an issue where the mission 'Dark as a Dungeon' would immediately cancel if the player had already reached the point of no return;
- Added new loading screens;
In other news regarding S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and GSC Game Group, Sergiy Grygorovych, the studio’s founder and creator of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game series, recently announced that he is leaving GSC Game Group. This is because he has founded his own game development division and is already working on his debut project, titled S.T.R.A.N.G.E.R. Bermuda SOS—a sci-fi RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world.
