Physint, New Hideo Kojima’s Video Game, Gets New Exciting Details

Back in January 2024, at PlayStation’s State of Play, the legendary game designer Hideo Kojima announced his latest new title—Physint. It will be a spiritual successor of Metal Gear Solid franchise in the action-espionage genre. Just like all Kojima’s projects, we still don’t know much about Physint, but the latest report reveals a little information about its cast, one particular scene, and villain details.

MP1st sources have revealed that the cast of Physint currently includes such actors as Charlee Fraser (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Minami Hamabe (Godzilla Minus One), and Don Lee (Eternals), with Mari Ueda, who previously worked with Hideo Kojima during Death Stranding 2: On the Beach animation recording, responsible for casting. As confirmed by Kojima himself, further casting updates, scanning, and performance capture are being planned for this summer.

Physint currently has a “Shimmer” codename, and in the report, we find out that the game will feature a scene with a hijacked bus with multiple passengers, including “a mother holding her newborn baby, five teenagers of different ethnicities, and two other male passengers.” Also, there are first details of the game’s villain—a character with a German accent who also appears in the scene and is described as “Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal but with flair.”

The game is still at an early stage of development, and it’s not confirmed whether it will be released on PlayStation 5 or PlayStation 6 (or both). Besides Physint, Hideo Kojima is also working on another new IP titled OD, which was announced in 2023. It is a horror game, and Hideo Kojima is working on the script with horror movie specialist Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us, Nope). OD is described as the game that “will explore the concept of testing your fear threshold,” and its cast already includes Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer, and Udo Kier. The release date of the project is unknown as well.
