Hangar 13 Might Be Working on Mafia 2 Remake
Released last year, Mafia: The Old Country has become a huge success for Hangar 13 and Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of the developers. The studio is reportedly working on a new game series installment. Moreover, according to the new report, it might be the remake of one of the best Mafia installments.
As revealed by gaming insider TCMFGames, with a reference to Mafia Game Videos, Hangar 13 might be working on a Mafia 2 Remake that will probably use the same game engine that was used in Mafia: The Old Country—Unreal Engine 5. But it could also use Fusion Engine, the same one that has been used in Mafia: Definitive Edition, the remake of Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. However, if it’s not the remake of Mafia 2, the studio might be working on a direct sequel to Mafia: The Old Country, which might be released in 2028, as you can check out below:
- A new Mafia 2 remake or a sequel to Mafia the old country is possibly in the works;
- The voice-actor for Isabella Torrisi in Mafia: The Old Country last year said a new game in the series has been greenlit by Take‑Two Interactive/ Hangar 13;
- If this game takes another 3 years to make it could launch in 2028 as a cross gen title;
Recently, the same scooper revealed that the next Mafia title will be a direct sequel to The Old Country and will be set in Empire Bay, the city from Mafia 2, in the 1920s-1930s. As for now, neither Hangar 13 nor Take Two has revealed any information on the next Mafia video game, so this report should be considered with a grain of salt.
