Recent Leak of Early GTA 6 Gameplay Turned Out to Be Fake

As is often the case in the gaming industry, rumors and leaks don’t always turn out to be true. This is especially related to the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI; as Rockstar Games hasn’t released any details about the game, insiders and leakers often use any leaked information as a way to draw attention to themselves.

Last month, Instagram user vice.city.alligator revealed the video of what seems to be the early version of Grand Theft Auto VI. He made a reference to a former Rockstar Games employee who sent this video to him before the game’s massive leaks in 2022. But as it turned out, this video, the story, and the whole thing is just fake news, as it was confirmed by the creator of this “leak”.

The creator of this fake GTA 6 video, a user called tenshi, has confirmed this in a Reddit post. He revealed that he didn’t expect to receive such a reaction, and it was a challenge for him to recreate the certain piece of Miami and make it as photorealistic as possible. You can check out more of his statement below:

"Hey everyone,

I’ve been following the discussions and the debunking threads over the last few days, and I figured it’s finally time to come clean. I'm the guy behind the "Bridge Leak".

First of all, sorry for the chaos! My main goal was to see if I could actually create a believable-looking scene from GTA 6 by recreating everything from the ground up. Honestly, the response was way bigger than I ever anticipated.

This wasn't just a simple edit. I spent months rebuilding a specific fragment of Miami, recreating the UI and spending way too many hours on the post-processing to make it look authentic. I even scrapped my first few versions because they just didn't feel right.

A lot of you were asking about how this was made, so I put together a video showing the process and how it all came together. If you're curious to see what went on behind the scenes, you can find it here: https://youtu.be/qQ4NZCQ3bo8

I’ll be reading and answering as many questions as I can, so if you have any doubts about the 3D work or anything else regarding the project, feel free to ask! I’m happy to share some details.

Disclaimer: I’ve reached out to the mods before posting this and I have their permission to share this breakdown with the community.

Cheers, tenshi!"

This is a prime example of why you shouldn't trust leaks of any kind—especially when it comes to video evidence—and this applies not only to Grand Theft Auto VI but to other games as well.

Anyway, the leaks of GTA 6 are continuing to appear, and the latest one actually pertains to the gameplay. It's impossible to say with 100% certainty whether the video is real or not, but it looks quite convincing and does indeed resemble how the game appears in the trailers.

For now, you can also find out everything we know about GTA 6 so far, about the story, gameplay, map, open world, platforms, and more— here.
