Sophie Turner Has Suffered an Injury During Tomb Raider Show Production
Amazon is working on a TV adaptation of Tomb Raider, starring Sophie Turner (X-Men: Apocalypse, Game of Thrones), which is set in the same universe as the recent Tomb Raider video game trilogy. The production started this January, but it’s now stopped because of the injury of the main actress.
In a recent conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Amazon MGM Studios revealed that Sophie Turner, who plays Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider TV show, has suffered an injury during the show’s production. There are no details of what kind of injury it could be and for how long the actress will be unavailable, but it is described as “minor.” You can check out the statement from Amazon below:
"Sophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury. As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible”
Earlier this year, we saw the footage from Tomb Raider series, where Sophie Turner was in action, and you can check the leaked images here if you haven’t seen them yet. Besides Sophie Turner, the show’s cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, Jack Bannon, Bill Paterson, Keeley Hawes, and more. Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) served as series creator, writer, and executive producer.
Although the actress hasn’t confirmed his injury yet, we are wishing Sophie Turner a speedy recovery.
The release date for Tomb Raider series is currently unknown.
