Although there is no official confirmation from Capcom yet, according to reliable Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem, the studio is working on multiple remakes from game series. One of them is Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake, which is expected to be announced this year and released in 2027; it is also rumored to be directed by Kazunori Kadoi & Yasuhiro Anpo, directors of Resident Evil 2: Remake and Resident Evil 4: Remake. In his newest post on X social media, scooper has shared an update that Capcom is considering to make the remake for 2012’s Resident Evil: Revelations, when some of his subscribers has asked him about such opportunity. You can check out his reply below:

“Do Capcom themselves consider Revelations games as main? I hope so, a remake of Rev1 could be great.

There's a reason the directors of Rev 1 & Rev 2 are the ones spearheading the franchise at present. The original idea may have been to tell a story setback in the past, but their foundations ended up being crucial. The possibility of doing a Rev 1 Remake has been tossed around.”

Resident Evil: Revelations was released by Capcom back in 2012. The game is set shortly after the events of Resident Evil 4 and features Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield as protagonists, and showing them stopping the spread of T-Abyss virus. Three years later, Resident Evil: Revelations received a sequel, which was divided into 4 separate episodes, brings back Claire Redfield as main characters and marks a debut for Barry Burton as playable character.

Earlier this year, the director of Resident Evil Requiem Koshi Nakanashi has revealed he would love to work on another Resident Evil Revelations title, if there is a chance. As for Capcom, the studio has recently confirmed a story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem is in the works, and Leon S. Kennedy is rumored to be the led character.
