Strauss Zelnick Might Have Spoiled the Price Tag of Grand Theft Auto VI

Some gamers are disturbed over the rumors that the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI might cost around $100 just for the Standard Edition. The recent leak, which also confirmed the existence of GTA 6 for PC, was actually priced even more; specifically, the version for Xbox Series X/S costs £89.99, which is around $120. However, it was revealed by a digital gaming store and not confirmed by Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.

As we know, the marketing campaign for Grand Theft Auto VI will start this summer, where we expect to have a detailed look at the game’s gameplay and also find out its price. But during the latest interview with The Game Business, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, the parent company of Rockstar Games, might have actually spoiled the price tag for GTA 6. You can check out his answer below, when he was asked if Rockstar Games uses in-game advertising to justify the game’s price:

"Very difficult for me to believe that we would want to have interstitial advertising in a game that someone paid 70 or 80 bucks for would seem unfair."

It’s good that Zelnick denied GTA 6 will have in-game advertising, but he also hinted the game will not have a $100+ price tag and will cost around $70-80, which is pretty acceptable for a title of that caliber. In this interview, he also responded to the idea of AI making games like Grand Theft Auto VI and stated the upcoming installment from Rockstar Games will be "the game for everyone".

Previously, gaming insider Tom Henderson also suggested the Standard version of Grand Theft Auto VI will cost $80, and the PC version will release in autumn 2027.
