Destiny: Rising Season 4 Revealed with Free Mythic Characters, New Raid, and Major Updates

NetEase Games has officially revealed Season 4 of Destiny: Rising, titled Season of Wishes, set to launch on March 26, 2026. The update brings a major expansion to the game, introducing new story content, free characters, raids, and a range of gameplay improvements.

Expanded Story and New Areas

Season 4 continues the narrative with an expanded Red Sea Rift, opening up a new chapter for players to explore. The update introduces three story-driven dungeons, alongside a larger open area filled with puzzles and hidden rewards.

Players can also take part in dynamic events, including Frontline and Public Events, encouraging cooperative gameplay and large-scale encounters.

Free Mythic Characters and New Gear

A key highlight of the update is its player-friendly approach to rewards. By completing event activities, players can unlock new Mythic characters for free, including the powerful hero Efrideet.

The update also introduces new equipment, such as:

• Three returning Exotic weapons from Destiny 2
• A brand-new Mythic weapon series

New Raid and Additional Content

Season 4 will also bring a new raid experience with the Gauntlet Onslaught: Great Hunt, launching in early April. This raid features a boss battle in Njorun Lair and includes speedrun-based rewards.

Additional content includes:

• Two new 3-player co-op Strike missions
• Expanded maps and updates across multiple modes
• Increased difficulty tiers for Operation Cordon and The Expanse

Progression and System Improvements

The update places a strong focus on improving overall gameplay systems. One of the biggest changes is the removal of Pinnacle Energy restrictions, allowing players to freely engage in different modes without limitations.

Progression has also been reworked:

• Faster early-game leveling for new players
• Reduced requirements in early chapters
• Level cap increased to 90
• Introduction of the Paragon Board for deeper endgame progression

Additionally, a new Season System will help track progress more clearly, while updated weapon and artifact systems offer greater customization options.
