Xbox Project Helix Possible Price and Specs Reportedly Revealed
Asha Sharma, the new CEO of Microsoft Gaming, has officially announced the new Xbox console—Project Helix. Previous rumors actually were right: the newest Xbox system will be a kind of Xbox and PC hybrid. More details will be revealed next week, during the GDC conference.
However, the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead has presented some unofficial information about Project Helix, specifically, it’s about the exciting specification of upcoming device but also its possible price. According to the source, the price of Project Helix will be about $1000-1200, and Microsoft is eyeing releasing the console next year.
Although the price could be a bit overpriced, according to some gamers, the reason is the console’s hardware. Project Helix is reportedly using the Magnus APU processor, which will have 30% more compute units than the Xbox Series X has, and each unit is expected to be approximately 65% faster. Moore’s Law is Dead reveals it will allow the console to reproduce more than the 120 FPS cap—the same amount that is targeted by Sony’s PlayStation 6. Potentially, that makes Project Helix more powerful than PlayStation 6.
Hopefully, we will receive more information about Project Helix next week during the Game Developers Conference, as confirmed by Asha Sharma.
