Capcom Will Discuss The Future of Resident Evil Next Year
Resident Evil Requiem is the latest installment of Capcom’s famous horror franchise and one of the best titles in the game series. The developers must be satisfied with the game’s high rates, as it has already become the fastest-selling entry in the history, as Capcom is confirmed to develop more Resident Evil games.
Although the company hasn’t announced any new titles yet, multiple insiders, specifically, reliable Resident Evil scooper Dusk Golem previously confirmed Capcom is already working on various Resident Evil remakes, such as Resident Evil Zero, Resident Evil Code: Veronica, and the original Resident Evil. Plus, Requiem is about to get a DLC, with Leon S. Kennedy seeming to be a main character, not Alyssa Ashcroft, which was previously reported, and the development of Resident Evil 10 has also reportedly begun. Despite Capcom's planning to release more Resident Evil titles in the next year, in latest report, Dusk Golem also clarified that next year, the company will discuss the future of game series and which strategy they will use. You can check out what the insider revealed in his recent X social media post below:
“Capcom is a very data-based company. They definitely have a bunch of things being measured by RE9, like past RE games. And paying attention to reviews, general feedback, sure they'll have a survey for RE9 pretty soon to give feedback that will happen in 2027, a bit after Code Veronica Remake has come out, where they'll have meetings about all the data, feedback collected, etc, & decide how to move forward with Resident Evil based on RE:4, RE9 & Code Veronica Remake, how best to go forward.”
Considering a massive financial success of Resident Evil Requiem, it’s pretty unlikely Capcom will scrap some of their plans about game series, and that means we will see more remakes of classic Resident Evil titles starting from 2027. Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake is reportedly set to release on that year, while the remake of Resident Evil Zero Remake is eyed to launch in 2028.
