New Maverick Games Title is Dropped by Amazon
Maverick Games, the studio that consists of former developers from such companies, as Playground Games (Forza Horizon series), Electronic Arts and Sumo Digital (Crackdown 3, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) is confirmed to be working on a AAA open-world driving video game. The untitled project was set to be published by Amazon but new report gives a massive update.
Maverick Games has confirmed Amazon Games Studios is no longer the publisher for the studio’s upcoming title. The announcement comes from Maverick Games X social media account, where also the first screenshot of their new game has seemingly been released. You can check the studio’s statement below:
“You may have seen the news today, we’re no longer working with Amazon Games Studios. We’re grateful to Amazon Games for their partnership and collaboration. Development of our debut title continues to progress as strongly as planned.
We’re in active dialogue with partners who share our long-term ambition for the IP and look forward to sharing more later this year”.
As you can see, the developers are now looking for a new publisher for their upcoming title. Although the details for the game is mostly unknown, it’s confirmed to be an open-world AAA narrative-led driving video game. Maverick Games consists of employees who were working on Forza Horizon video games, including Mike Brown – the creative director of the franchise.
