PlayStation 6 Release Is Not Coming Up Soon
Despite previous rumors, Sony is not planning to release PlayStation 6 anytime soon, as another reliable source confirms the company’s focus on PlayStation 5.
According to CFA senior analyst David Gibson from Sandstone Insight Japan, Sony has postponed the release of PlayStation 6 and decided to extend the lifecycle of their current console, PlayStation 5. He also clarified, “The release of PlayStation 6 is expected to be later than many expected.” According to previous reports, Sony’s next-generation console could be launched in 2027 or 2028, but it seems like it will happen even later.
Previously, gaming insider Tom Henderson also suggested the launch of the PS6 and the next Xbox console could be delayed due to rising RAM prices. Therefore, we should expect more video games to release in the coming years on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S before Sony and Microsoft officially announce the next generation of consoles.
