Half-Life 3’s Development Is On a Finishing Stage, and The Game Could Be Announced Soon
It’s been heavily rumored Half-Life 3 will be announced at The Game Awards 2025, but instead Valve has changed their plans, and Highguard was unveiled, which left Half-Life fans disappointed.
However, it doesn’t mean the game is not in development, though Valve is being quiet. And now, reliable insider and leaker Gabe Follower has shared that Half-Life 3 is currently at an advanced stage of development, and it already has such features as realistic weapon ballistics, NPC mood systems, crowd optimization, dynamic gravity effects, and more, as you can check below:
"HLX development has reached a point where it no longer requires all hands on deck"
For understanding, HLX is reportedly a working codename for Half-Life 3, just like it was with Half-Life 2 episodes. At the same time, Valve reporter and leaker Tyler McVicker previously suggested a Half-Life 3 announcement in 2026 remains a very likely perspective, and confirmed the game won't be revealed at The Game Awards 2025. Recently, it was reported Valve planned to release Half-Life 3 with the launch of Steam Machine this March; however, it seems pretty unlikely.
