Microsoft Confirms Release for Gears of War: E-Day and Halo: Campaign Evolved This Year

During this week’s Xbox Developer Direct, Microsoft and Xbox confirmed four new titles set to release in 2026, but there are some video games that didn’t make it to the show but are still expected to be launched this year.

As we remember, Xbox Developer Direct reveals new footage of Forza Horizon 6, Beast of Reincarnation, Fable, and surprisingly, Kiln from Double Fine studio—all expected to release this year. But Xbox Game Studios is also working on Gears of War: E-Day and Halo: Campaign Evolved, and in a recent report, the company’s representatives confirmed both projects are still eyed to be launched in 2026, as you can check below:

“As with every Developer_Direct, today’s show marks just a selection of the games coming to Xbox this year. 2026 marks the 25^th anniversary of Xbox, and offers a moment to honor the games, creators, teams, and players that have inspired play for decades – and we’ll be celebrating that all year long. Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel to the original video game, set 14 years before, as Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the very first Halo video game—Halo: Combat Evolved. Both games are still yet to have the release date, but considering Microsoft confirmed both titles will release in 2026, we might expect the release dates to be revealed soon.
