According to game tester Satish Saw, Assassin’s Creed Hexe will move away from traditional RPG mechanics and, perhaps, for the first time in the franchise’s history, will focus on psychological horror elements but also include stealth and atmosphere-driven gameplay. Game tester also clarifies Ubisoft is trying to balance fear, narrative, and gameplay stability in the upcoming title. More details are summed up by social media X TheRealZephryss, who is a prominent Assassin’s Creed fan; you can check below:

“Here is some new information on Assassin’s Creed Hexe from a game tester’s perspective:

- Assassin’s Creed Hexe is expected to move away from traditional RPG-heavy mechanics;

- Focus more on psychological horror, stealth, and atmosphere-driven gameplay;

- Stealth consistency and AI behavior;

-Environmental storytelling and visual cues;

- Audio design impact on player fear and immersion;

-Bug testing in low-light, dense environments;

-Tense, slow-paced gameplay;

-Games like Hexe demand deep exploratory testing, not just functional checks. Subtle bugs in lighting, sound, or AI reactions can break immersion completely;”

Moreover, it’s been confirmed that Christopher Grilli, who recently worked as a scriptwriter for Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, will serve as lead scriptwriter for Assassin’s Creed Hexe, as he made a statement on his LinkedIn profile:

“I’m thrilled to share that I’m starting a new position at Ubisoft Montreal as a lead scriptwriter on Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe. Incredibly grateful to be a part of this team and project,”

Assassin’s Creed Hexe is taking place in 16th-century Central Europe during the Holy Roman Empire, with the release date not having been confirmed yet.
