Originally released in South Korea under the name Hoyeon in August 2024, the title later expanded globally in September 2025. Despite its broader release, the game is now being sunset, with no specific reason provided by the developers.

Blade & Soul Heroes is set three years before the events of the original Blade & Soul, featuring an anime-inspired art style and a collectible hero system with over 40 playable characters. Players follow the story of Yusol, who sets out on a journey to rebuild her clan while confronting powerful enemies and the main antagonist, Yi Chun.

In an official statement published on the game’s website, the development team shared a farewell message, expressing hope that players will carry fond memories of their time with the game even after service ends.

Purchases Disabled, Refunds Available

Following the announcement, all in-app purchases have been disabled. However, the game will remain available for download on both the Google Play Store and the App Store, allowing players to continue playing until the end-of-service date.

The official Discord server will shut down on December 26, 2025, while the game’s website is scheduled to close in April 2026.

To support affected players, NCSOFT is offering refunds for all paid purchases. Refund requests can be submitted until March 21, 2026, though valid receipts with order numbers will be required.

While the South Korean service is coming to an end, players can still access the global and Japanese versions of Blade & Soul Heroes, providing an opportunity to continue the experience elsewhere.
