Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Just Receive an Update on Steam Amid Remake News

Usually, when a video game could get a potential remake or remaster, when can hear reports from insiders and leakers. But there is another proof when it comes to PC version of particular game – if the game has regular updates on Steam, then something is going on.

That was recently happened with the Steam-version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The remake of game is definitely in development as we have seen plenty reports and proofs from insiders and Ubisoft itself; the game, according to rumors, will be called Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and it will be more similar to modern Assassin’s Creed game speaking of combat system, weather, and also include reworked and modified interface. Ubisoft are also planning to release remake until March 31, 2026 but they haven’t announced game yet. Perhaps, it could happen at upcoming The Game Awards 2025 on December 11.

And while we are still waiting for official confirmation of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake, some Steam users have discovered that original game have receiving some updates almost every month since October 2025 as you can see below:

"Ubisoft recently added some files to the original Assassin's Creed Black Flag game. Now it’s receiving updates almost every month since October. The developer uploaded around ~246 MB of new data to the public branch of that depot. This usually indicates a new build for testing or new assets being added (images, trailers, etc.). Something big is definitely going on behind the scenes. Could this be connected to the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake? Only time will tell"
