The story introduces players to a strange talking book called Mister Encyclopedia, or Mr. E for short. One day, the book mysteriously falls from the sky onto Yoshi’s island, containing pages filled with descriptions of unusual creatures. Curious and determined to help, Yoshi leaps into the book’s magical pages to investigate.

“One day, on the island where Yoshi and his friends live, a peculiar talking book named Mr. E suddenly falls from the sky,” Nintendo’s synopsis explains. “This mysterious book’s pages contain information about unusual creatures, so Yoshi decides to jump in and help investigate.” — Nintendo

The game promises a colorful new world full of imaginative challenges while keeping Yoshi at the center of the action. Announced alongside other Mario-related titles, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book highlights Nintendo’s ongoing push to expand its classic franchises on the upcoming Switch 2.
