Marvel Rivals Launches Fourth Season “Heart of the Dragon”

Yesterday, September 12, 2025, the fourth season of the third-person multiplayer shooter Marvel Rivals, titled “Heart of the Dragon,” was launched. The update introduced a new hero, gameplay and balance changes, new content, the “Fruit of Immortality” battle pass, and marked the game’s debut on PlayStation 4.

New Hero: Angela

Season 4 introduces Angela, Thor’s sister from Asgard, who serves as a Vanguard. Her arsenal includes transformable weapons — axes and a shield — as well as the ability to fly. Angela can deal area damage, control space with defensive stances and knockbacks, providing strategic advantages for her team.

Balance and Battle Pass

The update also brought a major balance patch: heroes like Penny Parker, Thor, and Ultron were strengthened, while Squirrel, Black Panther, and Loki were nerfed. Team attack mechanics have been updated, and new hero combinations have been added, offering additional tactical possibilities.

The season’s battle pass is divided into three tiers: standard, premium, and deluxe premium. The deluxe pass includes in-game currency Chrono Tokens and increases their acquisition by 20% during the season. Battle pass rewards include legendary skins, MVP emotes and animations, cosmetic items, and in-game currency.

Events, Maps, and New Platforms

The season will feature new events and updates: on September 19, the second wave of summer skins will be released; on September 26, the new map “K’un-Lun — Heart of the Heavens” and a legendary Hela skin will be added; and on October 3, a legendary Emma Frost costume will debut. New maps and game modes have also been added, expanding opportunities for team play. Season 4 also marks Marvel Rivals’ debut on PlayStation 4, making the game accessible to an even wider audience.
